For us, sustainability is not just a choice, but a way of life; with small steps we create big changes.
Dear guests!
We believe that true hospitality also means caring for people, nature, and the future.
We declare that:
This kind of behaviour is primarily and, first of all, beneficial for the environment. In most cases, this kind of care for the environment involves small measures that mean little effort or giving up comfort for any of us. Only simple and barely noticeable actions are needed. But if we all tackle them together, we can change the world for the better and leave it to our descendants as we got it from our ancestors.
We will be grateful if you follow our advice and, together with us, contribute to preserving the environment. We will also welcome your comments and suggestions - we will take them into account to the greatest extent possible or send them to the addresses of competent institutions.
Thank you very much for your understanding and kindness!
HOSTELKRAS Team
WE TAKE WATER FOR DRINKING, BUT WE PAY ATTENTION TO CONSUMPTION
To maintain a satisfactory standard of living, a person consumes approximately 80 litres of drinking water per day. In Slovenia, we consume from 130 to 200 litres per household member per day. Just one toilet flush uses 2 to 8 litres of clean drinking water; the average Slovenian household uses 6 litres daily for cooking.
We are proud to be able to host you in an environment where the water is drinkable!! In Slovenia, we drink spotless and high-quality water! Just pour it, and cheers!
We use water sparingly - we close the tap while brushing our teeth. This way, we can save as much as 18 litres of water per minute. Even when showering and bathing, we pay attention to the fact that water does not run unnecessarily.
WE CHANGE TOWELS WITH THOUGHT
Changing towels daily is not environmentally friendly, as electricity, water and detergent consumption burdens it. We also protect and keep the environment clean by reducing the consumption of electricity, water and detergents – we only wash towels when they are dirty.
The environment will be grateful if you only put the towels on the floor when they are dirty, and you want them washed.
WE SEPARATE WASTE CONSCIENTIOUSLY
We separate garbage following the instructions. We always dispose of waste in the appropriate containers and never in nature or drains. The waste disposed in this way pollutes the groundwater and other drinking water sources.
We do our best to take the garbage to separate containers.
WE TURN OUT THE LIGHTS CAREFULLY
We use energy-saving/LED bulbs. We turn off the lights when we don't need them. This way, we contribute to lower electricity consumption and the preservation of the environment.
WE REDUCE THE CARBON FOOTPRINT
We close the doors and windows/shutters. This way, we prevent the rooms from heating up in the summertime, so additional cooling is unnecessary. With this, we effectively reduce the carbon footprint. We ventilate the premises for a short time in the morning and in the evening.
When using the air conditioner, we close the windows. When using the air conditioner, close the windows. We set the air conditioner to be 4 to a maximum of 6 degrees Celsius lower than the outside temperature. When leaving the room, we turn off the air conditioner.
WE ENJOY THE LOCAL WEALTH OF NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE
Our environment's natural and cultural heritage is extraordinary - visit, learn, experience and taste them! You can get information about sights, experiences, gastronomy and customs at our info point in the reception. If you need additional information, you can contact our friendly staff.
WE EXPLORE THE SURROUNDINGS WITH ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MOBILITY TYPES
Our area is ideal for cycling and hiking. Any trip/sightseeing you do by bike or on foot instead of by car is an environmentally friendly act. Have you ever thought about how differently we get to know a place if we visit it on foot or by bike? From close, we feel it, smell it, hear it. We open up to residents and make contact with them more accessible. Only in this way can we truly understand the places and people we visit.
